As lithium batteries require special care, the Blue Smart Charger comes with a dedicated Li-ion setting. It adjusts the algorithm to charge the battery faster, working within lithium's tight voltage tolerances and preventing overcharge damage. It can even revive deeply discharged batteries with automatic under-voltage protection reset.

Lead-acid batteries left partially charged or sitting idle for weeks can lose capacity due to sulfation buildup. The recondition mode can help restore performance by applying a higher-voltage charge cycle that breaks down these capacity-robbing deposits.

The Blue Smart Charger automatically adapts to all battery conditions, using a highly-advanced charging algorithm. If it detects a fully discharged battery during the test stage, it immediately applies a low current to revive it, even from 0 volts.

Before starting the charging process, the algorithm measures the ambient temperature and compensates for it. The temperature is measured again at low current, for instance when the battery is nearly full or when the charger is in storage mode. This allows the Blue Smart to perform from -20ºC/-4°F to +50ºC/122°F without special settings.
